Tips for organizing a photo-shoot

You'll find plenty of tools on Litmind to organize your professional or collaboration photo projects from start to finish. Make the most out of them with this tricks.

Find models

Litmind castings can reach thousands of models, you can setup filters for the model features you need, and best of all is that you'll be able to manage the candidates, accept or decline their join requests, organize candidates in folders, contact them all at once or individually, share files and much more.

Find make-up artists, hair stylists, clothing stylists and fashion designers

Most of the time you will need more people for your shoot. You can find them in the "Community" section of Litmind, but it is much easier to post a collaboration. In the collaboration you can briefly explain what your project is about and what you are looking for. People who are interested will apply to your collaboration, and you will be able to manage the candidates to finally make your choice.

Organize the profiles you like and the inspiration you find with lightboxes

Lightboxes allow you to save your favorite profiles, photos or videos from other members at Litmind. Store private notes for each item in your lightboxes, you can even export a lightbox to PDF for printing or sharing.
Lightboxes can be private so only you can see them, or public if you want to share them with the community. For example, you can create a lightbox to save the models that fit your session, a lightbox with photos that inspire you, a moodboard, or whatever comes to mind.

Everything ready for the shooting

Here are some tips that will be useful to you as you finish preparing your session:
  • You will need to sign a model and authorship rights release, we've prepared sample documents you can use here.
  • Take making-of photos, or better yet: record a video! People love making-ofs, and it's a great way to promote yourself.
  • Do you need an assistant during your shoot? Many beginning photographers are willing to come and help you learn while watching you work. If you're good enough, that is!
