I propose to make a small 🤏 of the history and meet amazing 🤩 history from the world of photography, which shows how the accidental discovery 🔬 can lead to revolutionary changes in the history of art.
⠀
So, in 1839, the French artist and inventor Louis Daguerre accidentally discovered that images could be fixed on a plate coated with silver iodide if it was soaked in mercury vapor.
⠀
This unusual way of creating photographs led to the invention of daguerreotype, one of the first types of photography.
⠀
The fashion craze came to the Russian Empire at the end of the summer of 1839. And in October, a talented Russian engineer, Lieutenant Colonel Franz Iosifovich Eremin, made the first daguerreotype in Russia. He captured the construction of St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg.
